Community Voices & Impact

The girls really enjoy the workshop!! And I was all into it, too!! The excitement on the girls’ faces as they interacted with you was unforgettable. Your willingness to share your experiences, knowledge, and passion helped spark curiosity, build confidence, and show our members that their dreams are possible. For many of them, the conversations they had with you may become the very inspiration that guides their future educational and career journeys.

I wanted to send our heartfelt gratitude to you all for being the main attraction at our Family STEAM Night! We had 68 families attend the event. They left glowing reviews from the feedback forms, and I know that is all due to the heart, joy, and creativity that you put into designing and running the workshops. Every time I looked around, the participants’ faces were all lit with wonder, curiosity, and the desire to investigate more. Thank you for taking your busy Friday on the eve of a long vacation to come and bring your passion for STEAM to our community. We truly appreciate you for your organization and leadership, your volunteers for their enthusiasm and professionalism!

I have to tell you how much my students enjoy and the ping pong ball launcher. We ended up having small skirmishes throughout the classroom. LOL! Next year, any science kits you can bring to us, we will use!!! Thank you so much!

Be on the lookout for our next STEM workshop in the future! We have finished our three WOW! That’s STEM activities. They were awesome. I have the box and bags ready for pick up. We made the gliding cars and it was
great! They can’t wait to make the catapult.

As a parent, I have personally seen the influence the high schoolers have on young children. My own children are inspired by their energy and kindness. They have become a role model to many students because they show them that age does not limit the ability to lead or create change. They maintain the humility to sit on a classroom floor and help a first-grader troubleshoot a circuit.

Huge thank you to @wow.thats.stem for the AMAZING “Planet Palooza” Earth Day Workshop! Our YMCA members were able to participate in a variety of environmental and science based activities, learning from the Wow! That’s STEM volunteers! We encourage you to follow and support @wow.thats.stem for all the amazing work they do for youth not only in Burbank but all over Southern California.

On behalf of the Arcadia Public Library Board as well as the patrons and staff of the Arcadia Public Library, I would like to thank you for co-hosting three “Kid Created: Wow! That’s Stem” programs! The hydraulics, pumping heart, and robotics projects that you presented challenged kids to analyze, trouble shoot, and work together. And their hard work produced amazing models and structures. Many walked away from the programs with smiling faces and questioning when the next would take place. Your diligence in planning, preparing, and presenting such well- coordinated learning communities for kids at the Library is to be commended. We hope that we may be able to call upon you for future STEM endeavors.
